A Comparative Evaluation of the Fracture Resistance of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) Plus and MTA Angelus: An In Vitro Study

Background Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) is a biocompatible dental material used for root-end filling in endodontics. A wide variety of literature has been published on the assessment fracture resistance MTA. However, results were conflicting reported studies, and sample size was insufficient to conclude efficacy materials such as MTA Plus Angelus. Therefore, this study designed compare evaluate effectiveness two commercially available MTAs, namely, (Avalon Biomed Inc. by Prevest Denpro Ltd, Jammu, India) Angelus (Angelus Dental Solutions, Brazil) terms resistance. Methodology To determine resistance, 300 freshly extracted healthy human teeth with single roots canals collected simple random sampling. Teeth decoronated, apical third enlarged, root prepared receive 5 mm filling. The segments randomly categorized into experimental groups 100 samples each, group (MTA Plus) B Angelus), remaining control (unfilled). Fracture determined using Instron Universal testing machine. Results our showed statistically significant increased (532.14 ± 5.19 N) than (540.81 3.56 (460.63 7.91 N).
